Obituary
GLEASON - Colleen A. Meyers, age 94, of Sun Prairie, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at Hattie's Glen. She was born on July 29, 1932, in Sauk City, the daughter of Elmer and Madeline (Dwyer) Hart.
Colleen graduated from Spring Green High School in Spring Green, Wisconsin. She was united in marriage to William “Bill” Meyers on February 27, 1954, in Madison Wisconsin.
Colleen and Bill raised 5 children near Cottage Grove, Wisconsin. Before her retirement, Colleen worked at Wisconsin Cheesman during the holiday season. She also worked in the cafeteria at American Family Insurance. She and Bill enjoyed spending time together, whether going for car rides, visiting casinos, Friday fish fry or traveling. They traveled extensively throughout the United States and abroad, creating many wonderful memories along the way. Colleen and Bill especially focused on ensuring their developmentally disabled children, Jefferey and Christopher, received appropriate education and care at a time when services were sparse and inadequate.
Family was especially important to Colleen, and she took great pride in her loved ones. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and cherished the time they spent together. Colleen loved being outdoors and was an avid walker. She also enjoyed reading, sewing, and crocheting. Colleen volunteered at the Colonial Club for more than 10 years, where she found great joy in helping others and being part of her community.
Colleen is survived by her daughter, Denise (Robert) Moore; sons, James (Kari ) Meyers, Dennis Meyers and Christopher Meyers; grandchildren, Melissa (Garrett) Campbell, Paul (Nicole) Meyers, Brianna Meyers, Sarah (Justin) Wallman and Keeley (Jessie) Casey; great-grandchildren, Olivia Lee, Hayden and Carter Campbell, Ian, Zoe and Holly Meyers, Nathan and Nicholas Wallman and Jesse Casey; as well as brother, William (Jo) Hart; and sister, Helen Wenger.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Meyers; son, Jeffery Meyers; brother, Robert (Jane) Hart; sister, Patricia Mack; infant brother, Eugene Hart; and brother-in-law, Donald "Butch" Wenger.
A private burial will take place at Roselawn Memorial Park.
