Obituary
MADISON-Eric Thomas Mangone, 39, of Madison, Wis., passed away Saturday, Dec. 10, 2016. Born Sept. 25, 1977, in Greensburg, Eric spent his childhood in Pennsylvania and Florida, his later life in Wisconsin and Virginia, but finally settled in the Madison, Wis., area, where he lived for many years working as a contractor. He is survived by the joy of his life, his son, 4 1/2 year old, Liam Thomas Mangone-Butters; the love of his life and fiancée, Caitlin Butters; mother, Marianne Cascone-Hilty; stepfather, Jason Hilty; sister, Bonnie; loving aunts and uncles, Linda, George, Tom, Suzanne, Joni and others; along with a host of loving cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Merle T. Mangone; and his maternal and paternal grandparents. A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 1150 Park St., Oregon, at 3 p.m., on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2016. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.

You were always full of energy, had a million dollar smile and made the room feel alive. You were loyal, hard working, fun, and a great friend. I hate that we lost contact over the past few years, but I know your love for me, and all the guys was unconditional. I will miss you Eric and my heart and prayers are with all your family members and friends.

Eric came over on December 6th and said Lisa, I got a new car and I want to take you for a ride. So we went out looked at the car got in and I KNEW it would be a ride of my life...we proceeded down Lincoln Rd about 110 mph. He says, where can we turn around? I said right up here at the entrance of Bergamont. All of a sudden we were doing a donut and going the other way about 110 mph back home. We got back home and he says, what did ya think? I said I think I just shit myself Eric!! I will hold that memory close to my heart FOREVER!! Sure do love and miss you buddy!! You are a great guy Eric!!

When I met Eric I noticed that we had a lot in common in the way of bringing people together, he could be the center of attention,but not in an arrogant way.
Eric loved people and we loved Eric he would always create opportunities for people to come together and just enjoy life, I can honestly say that I have never seen Eric without a smile.
I love E like a brother and I am heartbroken and I miss my friend, if I could bring him back I would they say " only the good die young " and this is definitely true in Eric's case !

You were a great man that had a lot of love to give, even a stranger. When I met you,i was warmly welcomed into your family. My heart cried when I heard you were gone. Good man and loving father.
