Eugene H LaBelle

MONONA-Eugene H. LaBelle, age 88, passed away surrounded by his family, on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2016, at Agrace HospiceCare. He was born on May 9, 1928, in Lodi, the son of Harold and Iva (Horton) LaBelle. He married Delores Mathison on June 25, 1949, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church. Eugene worked for Oscar Mayer Foods for 40 years, retiring in 1990. He enjoyed woodworking, boating and working on cars. Eugene built the house they were living in. Eugene is survived by his wife, Delores; children, Douglas (Lisa), Dennis (Kay), Dean (Jenny), Dawn (Andrew) Marshall and Don (Tiffany); grandchildren, Abby, Mark, Isabel and Bryce; sister, Lorraine (Del) Otis; brother, Albert (Helen); and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, David and Marvin. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.
