LODI-Sanford "Sandy" A. Lovik Sr., age 68, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2016. He was born on March 23, 1948, in Madison, the son of Ingvald and Ella (Onsager) Lovik. Sandy worked for the University of Wisconsin in Custodial maintenance, retiring in 2010. He enjoyed fishing, word searches, car rides, classic country music and spending time with his grandchildren. Sandy is survived by his son, Sandy Lovik, Jr.; grandchildren, Abigayle Freidig, Alexander Lovik, Alyssa Lovik, and Madison Lovik; siblings, Lois (Robert) Hellenbrand and Lucille Strittmatter (Gary Leatherberry); brother-in-law, Kenny Strittmatter; nieces, Donna, Becky, Lori, Debbie, Diane and Denise; nephews, Doug and Jerry; and special friend, Elaine Nolden. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter-in-law, Lisa Lovik, brothers, Ervin and Donald; and a nephew, DJ Lovik. A celebration of life will be held at Gunderson Lodi Funeral and Cremation Care, 157 S. Main St., Lodi, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2016. I am so sad to hear of Sandy's passing. My sincerest regards to all of his family. We were across the hall neighbors years ago, and more recently I would run into him around town or at Lucy's. I always enjoyed our impromptu visits. He always made me smile. He was a terrific guy, and I will remember him fondly. Rest in peace Sandy.

I am so sorry to hear of Sandy's passing. I have know Sandy since I was little he was always a laugh to be had, I am sad that I won't be able to attend his service but with the holidays and work I can't , please know you all are in our thoughts and prayers. I will miss him a lot!!! Amy Sopha
