Rob... You cried when I had to leave the lab. I didn't want it to be forever, but I wasn't ready for the three year commitment they were asking after so many years of working so hard at school. I wondered so long why you cried. You always treated me like a daughter- better than my own father, sometimes- and I assumed that was why. You took me to your favorite places and taught me how to fix cars and give "the wave" in the country. Only now do I wonder if you knew what was coming and wanted me to take over your important work.
