Deloris J Barnhart

IN MEMORY OF DELORIS J BARNHART Deloris J Barnhart passed peacefully into the loving arms of our Lord on November 14, 2016. She is greatly missed by the ones left behind. She was preceded in this journey by her beloved husband Ralph Lee Barnhart, parents, brothers and sister. She was born on June 13, 1930 to Lewis and Zella Pickett. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Floyd and Lloyd and sister, Eloise. She will be greatly missed by all of us she left behind. Deloris and Ralph are survived by their children Debra (Jerry), Cindy (Jerry) and Stephen (Margaret). She has many grandchildren and great grandchildren that she adored. She will also be missed by our family friend, Mark. We have all been blessed by having her as the head of our family. Cindy's husband, Jerry wrote the following beautiful tribute to her that speaks so clearly to who she was. "There used to be a candle burning bright inside my heart. Its flame kept alive by a mother's tender love. God knew I lost my mother when I was only five months old. But, one day an angel took her place. I had never met a lady with a heart so full of love. She saw the good in everyone. She brightened everyone's day with her warm and tender smile and open arms. She never spoke bad of anyone, but only words of kindness. Such a priceless gift is hard to find today. She has a beautiful daughter whom I love with all my heart. One day I asked her mother if she would bless me by giving her daughter to be my lovely wife. She smiled and said, "I won't be losing my daughter. Today Jerry, you have become my son." But, way too soon angels all gathered in heaven and watched as mom gently closed her eyes, then God reached down and wrapped his arms around her and took her home with all the loved ones that have gone before. With tear-filled eyes we softly whispered 'Goodbye Mom'. We all know our lives will never be the same. She left us all with so many priceless memories that will be cherished deep inside our hearts. I know she's watching over us from heaven and she always will...until God calls us home." We all wish to thank the tremendous staff of the 11 Tower unit at Meriter Hospital. They showed great care and compassion to mom and our family during the 4 days she was there. I believe that is the best group of folks I have ever seen work together at any hospital. Thank you! Mom was only with Agrace Hospice for a few hours, but their care and compassion for her and our family was phenomenal. Thank you! Finally a special thanks to Gunderson Funeral Home for their assistance in this difficult time. They have shown the utmost care for us. Thank you!
