Obituary
MADISON-Jay William Webb, age 62, of Madison, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016. He was born on Oct. 14, 1954, to Louise and William Webb. A lifelong Madison resident, Jay attended St. Raphael's School, Edgewood High School, and graduated from West High School in 1973. He went on to earn a bachelor's degree in Psychology from UW Oshkosh in 1978, and shortly thereafter he received a degree in Safety from UW Pewaukee. Jay married Juanita Helgesen, his sister's friend, on June 14, 1986. He worked for over 30 years as a custodial supervisor at West High School. Jay was a quiet, caring man who loved his family and friends and who passionately loved the Badgers and Packers. He could quote statistics on nearly every player and rarely missed watching a game. Jay immensely enjoyed watching freight trains and bowling with his son, Corey and spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of Gateway Community Church and enjoyed a firm faith in Jesus. Jay was a proud member of the Cherokee Nation. Jay is survived by his wife, Juanita; son, Corey; sisters, Christina Webb and Sue (Pat) Mooney; brother, Mark (Sharon) Webb; sisters-in-law, Janet (Mario) Marcelino and Nancy (Jeff) Lyons; brother-in-law, Roger Helgesen; dear friends, Julie Balsamo and Michael Ethun; and many relatives. Jay was preceded in death by his parents, Louise and William Webb; stepmother, Sarah Webb; and brother-in-law, Gary Helgesen. A funeral service will be held at GATEWAY COMMUNITY CHURCH, 3510 High Road, Middleton, at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016, with Pastor Paul Lundgren officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. Private burial will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. Jay's family wishes to thank all their friends and family for their prayers and support at this time. I worked with Jay for over a year at West High School. We had a great relationship. Jay was a great person. He was always positive. He was a great supervisor. He loved sports, especially the Badgers football team. This picture was taken on the last couple days before his retirement. I will miss Jay. I wish the best to his family. My condolences to them.

Jay will be missed. I worked with him for 3 1/2 years at West. He was always easy to work with and liked talking about sports . He was the go to guy if you needed stats on any team . Loved talking about the Badgers and the Packers. Its to bad he didn't get more of a chance to spend time with family and friends in his golden years of retirement.

Lance Petro I was a coworker of Jays for 7 yrs. Very intelligent person. Many fond memories! He mentioned his son Corey alot & was very proud of him. I will miss him & his ability to know so much about sports & their statistics. My utmost condolences to his wife, son & other family members!

Jay you are the best brother-in-law I could have asked for. I am so grateful to you for making my sister Juanita so happy and for being such an awesome father to Corey. I know you are with the Lord, Jay and our family will be together again one day. I promise you that Jeff and I will take good care of Corey on Saturday while Juanita is at your service Jay, since it is too much for Corey to be able to be there. We will have fun together in your honor and will give Corey lots of hugs and love.
