Obituary
MIDDLETON - Germaine Julieann Utter, age 95, of Middleton, passed away on Monday, December 16, 2024. She was born on February 6, 1929, to Mildred (Garfoot) and Edward Faust in Cross Plains.
Germaine attended St. Francis School and went on to graduate from Middleton High School in 1947. She married James Utter on May 29, 1948.
Germaine worked for Middleton-Cross Plains School District (MCPSD) for many years and retired in 1991. She volunteered for the Madison Children’s Museum and worked as a ranger at Pleasant View Golf Course. She was a member of the Middleton Ladies Golf Association and the VFW Auxiliary National Organization.
Germaine enjoyed playing golf, reading and knitting. She also loved traveling with Jim and her children.
Germaine is survived by her sons, Terry (Jennifer), Todd (Ellen), Thomas (Sheila) and Tracy (Shannon); daughters, Debra (William) Krause and Dawn Drotning; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; brothers, Keith Faust and Duane (Renee) Faust; and sister, Phyllis (Frank) Kirstein. She was preceded in death by her husband, James; parents, Mildred and Edward; and son, Timothy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, 7450 University Ave., Middleton, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2024, with a luncheon to follow. A visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wisconsin Diabetes Association and Agrace HospiceCare.
