Obituary

MADISON-Judith A. "Judy" Harris, age 77, of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2016, at UW Hospital. She was born on Dec. 26, 1938, in Madison, the daughter of Albert and Helen (Dunn) Smith. Judy was a lady who loved to laugh, banter with friends, and was very inquisitive and observant. She was a huge Packers and Badgers fan. One would never dream of calling and interrupting her during a game! She was a longtime employee of the Concourse Hotel and a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church. Judy is survived by her daughter, Julie (David) Rosen of Evanston, Ill.; sister, Alberta (Herm) Steffen of Lakeland, Fla.; and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, William (Vivian) Smith and Harold (Sharon) Smith. Funeral services will be held at ZION CHURCH ELCA, 2165 Linden Ave., Madison, at 1 p.m., on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016, with the Rev. Pat Siegler presiding. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for a scholarship to be established in memory of Judy and in honor of Dr. Monica Vohmann to promote medical education.
