MADISON - Quincey Charles Erskine Outerbridge, age 88, of Madison, passed away on Friday, Dec. 11, 2020, after a long illness of dementia and Alzheimer's. He came to the U.S. from Bermuda in 1958 to complete his education at American Schools in Los Angeles, Calif. in Electronics.
In 1959, Quincey married Shirley Harris, also of Bermuda, in California and joined International Business Machines in 1960. He retired in 1994 from IBM as a Field Manager to pursue his love of travel, photography, fishing, and camping in the U.S., Canada, Europe, and Australia.
Quincey leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Shirley; daughter, Paamela Anne; granddaughter, Quinley Marie; and his many nieces and nephews in Bermuda and New York.
His outgoing, joyous attitude will be missed by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to Alzheimer's Association Madison is appreciated.
A private service will be held at Gunderson Fitchburg Funeral and Cremation Care, on Friday, Dec. 18, 2020. An internment will follow at Verona Cemetery.

To Shirley, Pam and Quincey My heartfelt condolences to you ladies during the passing of Uncle Quincey. I have such fond memories during my visits to Wisconsin (camping..cheese curds and drives through Wisconsin farm lands). His visits to Bermuda when my Mom fed him all the Bermuda cuisine. My last visit to Wisconsin was 2 years ago. Such a perfect gentlemen with a great sense of humor. I can still hear him reciting “one day I am gonna climb that mountain walk up there among the clouds where the cotton grows and there ain’t no fields to plow”. Uncle Quincey you have now climbed that mountain and sleep in peace. Love you Pal JOanie ❤️🙏🏾

Geography kept us from being part of each other’s family, but our time growing up in Bermuda will not be forgotten. May God’s blessings be with you during this difficult time. Dear Shirley, it has been a very long time but I still have fond memories of when you helped me in the Middleton Baptist church library and when Pam was a student at Middleton Christian School. I just wanted to extend my sincere sympathy to you. Quincey will be spending Christmas with Jesus and that brings comfort, but you (and many others) will still miss him.
