MADISON - Harold Daniel “Bud” Frank, age 87, of Madison passed away with his wife at his side on April 9, 2025, at Agrace HospiceCare. He was born on July 17, 1937, in Portage, Wis., the son of John and Inez (Dupless) Frank. He married Charlene M. (Olson) Frank on March 3, 1962. They had three sons, Michael, Patrick and Matthew.
Bud graduated from Portage High School in 1955 and then served in the United States Army from 1955 to 1958 in Europe. When Bud returned, he attended Madison Business College and studied accounting. He then took a job with Research Products Corporation of Madison in 1962, and it became his lifetime career, retiring in 1998.
Bud was an athlete from soccer to golf and an outdoorsman from hunting to fishing, however his passion seemed to settle on shooting sporting clays (and playing cribbage) at Waunakee Gun Club where he was a lifetime member and friend.
Bud was a devoted, loving and providing husband, father and friend to many. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Charlene; his sons, Michael (Heather), Patrick (Debra) and Matthew (Brooke); grandchildren, Austin (Elizabeth) Frank, MacKenzie (Logan) Kassner, Sebastian and Eva Frank, Mercedes and Amyas Frank, Aria and Avery Frank; great-grandchildren, Skyler, Landon and Liam Kassner; three sisters; and one sister-in-law. He was preceded in death by his two brothers; one sister; four brothers-in-law; and one sister-in-law.
