Chuck was a generous man with a great sense of humor.
He invited many people to his Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners.
We love the mix of American and Japanese food at those dinners.
He once gave me a card of the Addams family saying welcome to
our family.
Although he didn't travel much after moving to Wisconsin, he
loved getting postcards. So any time we went out of the
country, we'd send him postcards.
His generous and kind spirit lives on in his amazing daughters.
We'll miss you Chuck.

My dear friend, mentor and employer taught me many things. He introduced me to Edison cylinders and 3-D stereo cards (Eventually I would become a 3-D photographer and currently have a small collection of cylinders and 78 records). He believed in me when I didn't believe in myself. I have fond memories of listening to music and learning about history in his Dane Street basement. It was always an adventure to see what he picked up at auctions and to stroll through his collections in the depot and back building. And then there were the wonderful parties. Chuck was kind, generous, patient, funny and wonderfully different. He lived life on his own terms. He loved many and many loved him. Thank you my friend for all you have done for myself and for many, many others. All my love.

My good friend and mentor Chuck! Everything I know about building and creating I learned from Chuck. How to load a wheel borrow, how to tie a ladder to a branch when trimming trees, how to operate a chainsaw, how to drywall, and especially how to help people. You didn't hear from Chuck often but when you needed help, he was "Right There"! He has taught me so much, not only about building, but how to live your life and the importance of helping people. He would drop everything to help. When he would see your face for example he would say: "How's your little world". Great man whom I will miss dearly. Thanks so much Chuck! your teachings will live on with me forever.
