MIDDLETON—Kim (Fischer) Thompson, age 52, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 16, 2016. She was born on Aug. 16, 1964, in Chicago, Ill. She graduated from Memorial High School in Madison. After completing high school she attended UW-Whitewater and obtained a degree in liberal arts. Kim enjoyed a career in real estate and also worked for her mother-in-law in her cosmetics business. She was also a rental manager and most recently a property manager. In 2000, Kim married Mike Thompson in Madison. They welcomed Hannah, their only daughter in 2005. Mike passed away in 2013. Kim always enjoyed a good laugh and spending time with family. Kim is survived by her daughter, Hannah; mother, Loretta Shea; brother, Steve Fischer; and many sisters-in-law, bothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. THOMAS AQUINAS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 602 Everglade Dr., Madison, at 11 a.m., on Friday, Oct. 21, 2016, with Father Bart Timmerman presiding. Burial will be at Middleton Junction Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday.

I remember Kim dearly. And with humor. Because that is always how she ended a phone message or conversation. Always on a funny note. I met Kim at Miller's grocery store. She was talking to herself. I was in the same area of the store - talking to myself. We both had our daughters in the shopping carts, so it appeared we were conversing with them. We spotted each other and took up conversation instantly and comfortably. We had been friends ever since that day. Our daughters grew in to being the best of friends.
I will miss you Kim. Every time I pass a cosmetic counter offering "gift with purchase" I will pause and giggle. And think of you.
I will miss you Kim. I will think of you every moment my daughters and I spend with Hannah. I will do my best to show her the love and kindness you showed to others.
