Ronald E. "Ron" Goth

When I worked in the Education Sciences Bldg at the UW in the 1970s and 80s, Ron was one of the maintenance workers in my area. He had varied responsibilities and I’m not sure now what his title was, but it should have been All Around Great Guy. A number of us shared a group of offices opening into a common area with coffee and donuts and so on. Ron knew everyone in the group and everyone liked him. He and I used to talk a lot and he always had helpful “older brother” advice and something upbeat to say. After he started the strawberry business, my wife and I regularly went picking out at the farm. Over the years I bumped into him occasionally and it was always a pleasure to talk with him. I thought of him fondly every time I was on the Interstate going past the Marshall exit. From my perspective, he was the Salt of the Earth. Larry Weber
