Charles Raymond Meyer

MADISON-Charles R. Meyer, age 67, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 29, 2016. He was born on Feb. 7, 1949, in Plymouth, Wis., the son of Willard and Lorraine (Preder) Meyer. Charles graduated from Plymouth High School in 1967, and earned his bachelor's degree from UW Milwaukee. He was employed with the Social Development Commission in Milwaukee as Director of the energy assistance program for 17 years. Later, Charles joined the Agape Elementary School as an Assistant Business Administrator. He volunteered for a variety of organizations that assisted people in need. Charles was an avid sports fan, enjoying the Packers, Badgers and Brewers. He is survived by his son, Zachary (Graciela) Meyer-Krings; mother, Lorraine; sisters, Patricia Chase and Jean Meyer; along with other relatives and friends. Charles was preceded in death by his father; and sister, Karen. Funeral services will be held at ASBURY UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 6101 University Ave., Madison, at 12 Noon, on Saturday, Dec. 31, 2016, with the Rev. Harold Zimmick presiding. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Plymouth. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
