Jerry Udelhoven

LODI-Jerry L. Udelhoven, age 80, passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at his home. Jerry was born January 9, 1936 in Platteville, Wis. the son of Wilson and Cecil (Dobson) Udelhoven. He graduated from Platteville High School in 1955. He served in the US Navy aboard the USS Midway as a plane captain on the A3D from 1955 to 1959 and continued inactive service until 1963. Jerry considered his service to his country to be one of the highlights of his life. On November 16, 1957 he married the love of his life, Jacque L. LaBarge in Dubuque, Iowa. Jerry retired in 2000 after careers in insurance sales and real estate. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. Jerry spent summers in Wisconsin at his home on the lake and winters at his home in Florida. He also enjoyed travel and spending time with his friends, children and grandchildren. Jerry was big hearted, with a mischievous sense of humor and always one to lend a hand. Jerry is survived by his wife, Jacque of Lodi; his children, Jodie L. Rea of Kissimmee, Fla, Jill L. Atencio of Dubuque, Iowa, Jeff L Udelhoven of Portland, Ore and Jay L. Udelhoven of Portland, Ore; his sister, Darlene Butson of Platteville, Wis.; his brother, Gerald "Butch" Udelhoven of Blue River, Wis.; 15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. His family was the center of his life. He is greatly missed. Funeral Services will be held at GUNDERSON LODI FUNERAL HOME, 157 South Main Street, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 8, 2016 with Reverend Denise Cole presiding. Luncheon will be held following the service at Lodi United Methodist Church, 130 Locust Street from 12:30 to 2 p.m. A military burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery in Platteville, Wis. at 4 p.m. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 7, 2016 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. and again on Saturday, October 8, 2016 from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
