Leona S Moore

MADISON/SIREN-Leona S. Moore, age 81, of Madison, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, Oct. 2, 2016, at Agrace HospiceCare. She was born on Aug. 10, 1935, in Siren, the daughter of Mary Eaton. She married Gene Moore on Feb. 23, 1957, in Madison. Leona attended grade school in a one-room school house on Syene Rd., in Madison. She graduated from Central High School in 1954. Leona worked as engineering support at American Family Insurance for 25 years. Family was everything to Leona. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, a devoted wife and a great friend. Leona loved to travel the country with her family, especially to Branson, Missouri. She had a great love for country music and loved to watch QVC and RFD-TV. Leona was a compassionate soul and loved animals, especially her dogs, Sassy and Sadie. Leona is survived by her children, Chadwick Moore of Madison/Adams; Janice (Randy) Hinton of Belleville; grandchildren, Angela (Jonathan) Pulliam of New Berlin and Justin (Nancy) Hinton of Lodi; great-granddaughters, Cailey Martin, Emma Pulliam and Brooklynn Pulliam; sister, Rosalie Emberson of Sun Prairie; brother, Arnold (Martha) Fischer of Blue Mounds; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and great friends, Dan and Robin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene; mother, Mary Eaton; her two most beloved pets, Buckshot and Miss Lil; brother-in-law, Everette Emberson; and a nephew. A Funeral Service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 11 a.m., on Friday, Oct. 7, 2016, with the Rev. Sandra Schieble presiding. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., on Thursday, Oct. 6, 2016, and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday.
