Donna Mae Navrestad

MADISON-Donna M. Navrestad, age 83, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, Sept. 30, 2016, and is now with her Lord and Savior. She was born July 5, 1933 in Freeport Ill., the daughter of Henry and Marie (Beck) Vietmeyer. Donna graduated from Beloit High School. She then began working at the Beloit Public Library, where she met Olav Navrestad, and they were united in marriage on April 18, 1959. Donna enjoyed watching cooking shows, Christian shows, and looked forward to her morning paper. She had a deep faith and cherished her friendships with those at Door Creek Church. Donna was involved with the senior group from church. She also had a great sense of humor. Donna is survived by her husband, Olav Navrestad; son, Paul Navrestad; sister, Shirley Hallmark; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceaded in death by her parents; sister-in-law, Katherine Nelson; and brother-in-law, Richard Hallmark. Funeral services will be held at DOOR CREEK CHURCH, 6602 Dominion Dr., (corner of Sprecher Rd. & Dominion Dr.), Madison, at 11 a.m., on Thursday, Oct. 6, 2016 with Rev. Cal Steiner presiding. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., on Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2016, and at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday.
