MADISON - Charles A. Kiddy, age 94, of Madison, Wis., went home to the Lord on Saturday, November 29, 2025, in Madison. He was born on April 14, 1931, in Boston, Mass., the son of Charles S. Kiddy and Mary A. (O’Neill) Kiddy.
Charlie received a B.S. degree from the University of Massachusetts in 1951, and a M.S. degree in 1955 and a Ph.D. in 1958 from University of Wisconsin. He was united in marriage to Beverly E. (Fournier) Kiddy on Dec. 22, 1951, at Westover Air Force Base in Massachusetts. Charlie served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951-1953, and was stationed in Okinawa, January 1952-1953. Charlie was a member of the American Dairy Science Association, Society of Animal Science; the American Quarter Horse Association; and the Maryland State Quarter Horse Association where he served as President.
Charlie was a loving husband and devoted father and Grandfather. He enjoyed farming and traveling in their motor home with Beverly. He was a Badgers, Brewers and Packers fan. Charlie and his family lived in Upper Marlboro, Md., for 26 years. In 1984 they established Kiddyland Farm in rural Brooklyn, Wis., where they raised American Quarter Horses and Simmental cattle. In 2006 he and Beverly moved to Stoughton, Wis., where they were active members of St. Ann Catholic Church.
Charlie spent a lifetime serving his community, most recently driving homebound neighbors to appointments, delivering communion to homebound St. Ann parishioners, serving as religious coordinator for Society of St. Vincent de Paul, singing in the St. Ann funeral choir, and singing to residents at local nursing homes.
In 2024 Charlie moved to All Saints Assisted Living in Madison, Wis. where he was blessed with excellent care. Since early 2025 Charlie also received compassionate care from SSM Health Hospice until his passing.
Charlie is survived by his sister, Loraine Howard; brother, Stanley Kiddy; three sons, Kenneth (Betty) of Rehoboth Beach, Del., Thomas (James Miller Jr.) of Rehoboth Beach, Del., and Michael (Dawn Laguna) of New London, Wis.; daughter, Kathleen Kiddy D’Annunzio of Lewes, Del.; four grandchildren, Amy Newling (Erik), Christopher Kiddy, Jay D’Annunzio and Karly D’Annunzio; and one great granddaughter, Teagan Newling. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Beverly; parents; sister, Mary A. Rawlinson; and son, Christopher Kiddy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. ANN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 323 N. Van Buren St., Stoughton, Wis., at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, with Father Randy presiding. Burial will take place at St. Ann Catholic Cemetery. A luncheon will follow at the church. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON STOUGHTON FUNERAL HOME, 1358 Highway 51 N. at Jackson St., Stoughton, Wis., from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, and also at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Wednesday.
