Obituary

OREGON - Mary June (Nevel) Markham, age 90, of Oregon, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2023. She was born on March 19, 1933, in Brooklyn, the daughter of Lucille (Nevel) Phillips.


Mary graduated from Brooklyn High School in 1952. She met Robert J. Markham in October of 1952, and they were married on April 25, 1953. Together they had four children, Debra, Robert, Diane and William; and were blessed with four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her daughter, Diane.


Mary worked as a press operator for Wisco Industries in Oregon for 21 years. She was a huge Packers fan. Mary loved to bake and cook and was well known for her sweet treats, sweet chili and deviled eggs. She loved canning, gardening and tending to her rose bushes.


A funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 1150 Park St., Oregon, at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 23, 2023. A private family burial will be held at Storytown Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.
