Catherine C. "Cathy" Wright

OREGON- Cathy C. Wright, age 82, of Oregon, passed away on Monday, Feb. 26, 2018, at UW-Hospital.  She was born on Aug. 5, 1935, in Cross Plains, the daughter of John and Rosina (Hollfelder) Statz.  Cathy graduated from Middleton High School with the class of 1953.  She was united in marriage to Stanley Wright on Sept. 6, 1956, in Cross Plains.  Cathy worked with her husband and children at Wright's Auto, a family business on Madison's South Side for fifty years. She was a member of Holy Mother of Consolation Church and relished being a part of the Red Hat Society.  Cathy enjoyed cheering on the Badgers, Brewers, Packers, gardening and playing cards.  She is survived by her sons, Tom (Lisa) Wright and Gerald “Gerry” Wright; seven grandchildren, Derek (fiancée, Patty), Briteni, Joshua, McKayla, Augustus, Avery and Evelyn Wright; two great grandchildren, Jada and Sloane; sister, Jeanette (Raymond) Breunig; sister-in-law, Elaine Wright; brother-in-law, Wilbur Wright; and other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Stanley; and two children, John and Vickie Wright.  A Memorial Service will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 1150 Park St., Oregon, at noon, on Saturday, March 3, 2018, with Father Gary Wankerl presiding.  A luncheon will follow at the funeral home.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.  Inurnment will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery.  Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.  Gunderson Oregon Funeral & Cremation Care 1150 Park Street 608-835-3515
