Obituary
OREGON - Alta Mae Schulz, age 99, of Oregon, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at Heritage Monona. She was born on June 29, 1922, in Albany, Wis., the daughter of Vinton and Meda (Potter) Long. Alta was united in marriage to Floyd Schulz on January 3rd, 1942.
Alta was kind, loving, feisty, stubborn and full of energy. She was always busy tending her flower and vegetable gardens and she looked forward to looking through her garden catalogs. Alta enjoyed cooking and baking, watching for garage sales and refinishing everything. She loved to dance with her husband, listen to old country music and was a forever Badgers, Packers and Brewers fan. Alta was a wonderful caretaker and an animal lover. She adored her loyal feline companions.
Alta is survived by five sons, Philip (Donna) Schulz, Steven (Jane) Schulz, Dan (Carla Rowley) Schulz, Gene (Janice) Schulz and Leslie (Mona) Schulz; daughter-in-law, Janice Schulz; 18 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd; parents, Vinton and Meda; five brothers, Ralph Long, Harold (Paulene) Long, Raymond (Marilyn) Long, James (Sonja) Long and Lloyd Long; sister, Mildred (Lyman) Schulz; and son, Gerald Schulz; grandson Philip F. Schulz; step-granddaughter Jodie Bradshaw.
A funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 1150 Park St., Oregon, at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 26, 2022. Burial will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery in Brooklyn. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday.
