Genevieve E Kaminskas

MADISON/OREGON-Genevieve E. (Schwenn) Kaminskas, age 100, passed away on Friday, August 4, 2017.  She was born on June 11, 1917, in Madison, the daughter of Leon B. and Jennie Clarke.  She graduated from Central High School on June 14, 1935.  Genevieve married Herman W. Schwenn on Aug. 13, 1935 in Rockford, Ill.  In September of 1944, they moved to Long Beach, Calif. where she worked for Government Housing Authority for 2 years.  They moved back to Wisconsin in 1953 and she worked in housekeeping at Madison General Hospital.  Genevieve started working as a medical aide at the VA Hospital in December of 1956.  She married Gordon L. Temperly on Aug. 7, 1965 in Galena, Ill. Genevieve was transferred to Prescott, Ariz. in 1969.  Gordon passed away on Nov. 2, 1970 and she returned back to Madison that same year.  Genevieve married Charles J.”Cal” Kaminskas on May 18, 1974, in Yucaipa, Calif. She transferred to the VA Hospital in Long Beach, Calif., retiring on June 11, 1977, after 21 years of service.  Genevieve moved back to Wisconsin and settled in Oregon, Wis.  Cal passed away on Nov. 30, 1998.  Genevieve enjoyed traveling in both the U.S. and abroad.  She also enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles, but treasured the time she spent with her family the most. Genevieve is survived by her children, Ronald (Jane), David (Judy), Curtis (Jane) Schwenn, and Sharon Sime; three step-sons, Calvin (Sue) Kaminskas, Clay Kaminskas and Robert (Julie) Fitzgerald;  14 grandchildren; four step-grandsons; 27 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Charles Kaminskas, Gordon Temperly and Herman Schwenn; son-in law, Arne Sime; and two brothers, Russell and Kenneth Clarke.  Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 1150 Park St. Oregon, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2017.  Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery, Madison.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday.           Gunderson Oregon Funeral & Cremation Care 1150 Park Street (608)835-3515
