OREGON - Patricia M. “Pat” Lindberg, age 88, of Oregon, passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2022, at BeeHive Home. She was born on May 6, 1933, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Robert and Ruth (Johnson) Cassidy.
Patricia graduated from Hancock High School in 1951. She earned her bachelor’s degree from St. Francis College of Nursing school and her registered nursing license from St. Joseph’s Hospital. She was united in marriage to Richard “Dick” Lindberg on Sept. 11, 1954.
Pat worked as an RN for St. Mary's Hospital and Oregon Girls School. She was a long-time member of Holy Mother of Consolation Catholic Church and loved singing in the church choir. Pat was always willing to help out whenever needed and enjoyed serving as a volunteer- especially delivering Meals on Wheels.
Pat was proud of her Irish and Finnish heritage. She enjoyed tending to her garden, swimming, collecting pigs, and especially spending time with her family. She and Dick loved going up north on family vacations and taking memorable trips to Guatemala, Finland, Ireland, Egypt and Israel.
Patricia is survived by her two sons, Gregory (Denise) Lindberg and Paul (Cherie) Lindberg; five grandchildren, Travis, Evan (Amanda), Zachery, Noah and Julia; and brother, Richard Cassidy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard; parents, Robert and Ruth; son, Daniel Lindberg; and sister, Roberta Gasman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at HOLY MOTHER OF CONSOLATION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 651 N. Main St., Oregon, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 22, 2022, with Father Gary Wankerl presiding. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Tuesday, March 22, 2022. Burial for Patricia and Richard will be held at a later date at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Oregon, where they will be laid next to their son, Daniel.
