Obituary

OREGON/VERONA - Clifford C. Holcomb, age 85, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 8, 2020, at SSM Health-St. Mary's Hospital. He was born on Nov. 10, 1934, in Mucoda, the son of Clarence and Clarice (Roberts) Holcomb. Cliff graduated from Verona High School with the class of 1952. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served during the Korean War. Cliff married Mary Dunbar on Sept. 6, 1955, and they were blessed with three children. Following his discharge from service, Cliff began working at Anderson's Farms. Later, he began a career with FW Means/Aramark, retiring after working over 30 years. After retirement and always needing to stay busy, he began working for NAPA Auto Parts in Verona. Cliff enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing, playing Euchre or any card game. He could always be found spending time with his best friends, Al Kelter and Tom Haegle. Cliff is survived by his children; Karl Holcomb, Kirk (Eileen Stearns) Holcomb and daughter, Kari (Bill Albright) Holmes-Albright; special family friend, Amy (Pat) McGuire; six grandchildren, Jacey Holcomb, Cody Holmes, Jesse Holcomb, Chase Holmes, Emily McGuire and Sean McGuire and many other loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary; parents; sister, Geraldine (Kendall) Glasier; and brother, Eugene Holcomb. A Memorial Service is being organized, more information will be shared in the near future. Memorials may be given in Cliff’s memory to the Wounded Warrior Project. RIP my dear friend. Spent many hours over years playing cards, laughing or just enjoying time at Eddie's Bar or Boulevard . He was a great guy with a big heart and smile. You will be missed. Marlene and brother Mick Thayer.
