Willard Alfred Hagstrom

Hagstrom, Willard A. “Bill” OREGON-Willard A. “Bill” Hagstrom, age 86, passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2017, at Agrace HospiceCare.  He was born on July 11, 1930, in Ramsey, Mich., the son of Alfred and Hattie (Gerke) Hagstrom.  Bill grew up in Arbor Vitae, Wis.  He met the love of his life, Catherine Botham in 1955 and they were married on May 19, 1956, and spent 61 years together.    Bill owned and operated Hagstrom Insurance from 1962 until his retirement in 1987.  He spent 25 years as a school bus contractor with the Oregon School District and served on the Fire Department and was a founding member of the Oregon Area EMS.  Bill loved to travel with his family, spending winter months in Florida and summer months in northern Wisconsin.   His true passion was taking annual fishing trips to Canada with his family, friends, and his special fishing buddy, Gordie for many years.  Bill is survived by his wife, Catherine; children, Charlie (Linda), Edward (Terri), James (Julie), Tom, Mary (Kamel) Sadr; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Caroline (Ronald) Trapp; brother, Robert (Barbara); and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Mabel (Austin) Gilbertson and Lorraine (Niles) Nutter; and brother, Glendale (Dorothy).  A Memorial Mass will be held at HOLY MOTHER OF CONSOLATION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 651 N. Main St., Oregon, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 15, 2017, with Father Gary Wankerl presiding.  Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 1150 Park St., Oregon, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, July 14, 2017, and at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.  The family would like to thank all those who cared for him at Oregon Manor, Main Street Quarters, Sienna Meadows and Agrace HospiceCare.
