Obituary

OREGON - Myra Lee Elliott, age 82, of Oregon, passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2022, after a six-week battle with cancer. She was born on Sept. 21, 1939, in Dodgeville, Wis., the daughter of Guerdon and LaCreta (Smith) Johnson.


Myra married James "Jim" Elliott on March 6, 1963, at Bethany Methodist Church in Madison.

 

Myra worked at, WIBA AM/FM, Nelson's and Duluth Trading Company. She was an avid reader and enjoyed being outdoors, attending the theater and quilting. She belonged to the Cambridge Quilting Group. She loved spending time with her family, especially with her cherished grandson, Lucas, and her beloved dogs.


Myra is survived by her son, Eric Red (Rochelle) Elliott; grandson, Lucas Elliott; brother, William (Linda) Johnson; two sisters, Bev (Paul) Harms and Jeanne (Warren Smetana) Johnson; dear friend, Joanne Holtan; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and her beloved canine companion, Willa Mae. She was preceded in death by her parents, Guerdon and LaCreta: and husband, Jim.


A funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 1150 Park St., Oregon, at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 15, 2022. Burial will take place at Prairie Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday. Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
