Carole Joy Carter

VERONA-Carole J. Carter, age 84, of Verona, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2020, at Badger Prairie Health Care Center. She was born on Dec. 27, 1935, in Ecorse, Michigan, the daughter of Louis and Helen Geresy. When Carole was just four years old her mother passed away, and later Louis married Rose who raised Carole as her own. Family was everything to Carole and she loved spending time with them. She was full of love for everyone and truly never had a bad word to say about anyone. Carole enjoyed playing games, especially Bingo, and cherished the many friends she made at the Oregon Senior Center. Carole is survived by daughters, Teresa (Fred) Bull, Debra Elgen, and Lori (Dan) Lezman; sisters, Doris Fragoules, Evelyn (Steve) Donato, and Christine Kuhn; brothers, Lynn (Karen) Geresy and Louis (Sue) Geresy Jr.; grandchildren, Kady, Carter (Elizabeth), Alyssa (Jeremiah), Keaton (Hailey), Sean, Joseph, and Julie; great-granddaughter, Sophia; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers-in-law, Dale Kuhn and George Fragoules. A celebration of Carole’s life will be held later this summer in Michigan.
