Esther Marcelline Zblewski

MADISON - Esther M. Zblewski, age 85, of Madison, passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2021, at Tennyson Senior Living. “Life is what we make it; age is nothing but a state of mind and time has allowed me to proceed with my own obituary. I was born on a farm near Stevens Point, Wis., one of 13 children. I attended a one-room country school and St. Peters School in Stevens Point and Maria High School in Stevens Point. My family moved to Milwaukee where I completed my education at Messmer High School. My greatest passion lead me into nursing where I attended MATC and received an LPN degree. After several years of work at Lutheran Hospital of Milwaukee, I then attended Mercy Hospital in Janesville where I received my RN degree. The path took me to St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison, hospice care, nursing homes and assisted living facilities. What a joy to also be a school crossing guard for two years with the first and second graders. I also joined the Kwik Trip team as a food product demonstrator. It was a fun job. I loved singing and watching the Packers and Badgers play was always my priority. I close by thanking my parish at St. Bernards, my nieces and nephews, my nursing friends, my God and doctors for the wonderful journey on this great earth. I was preceded in death by both of my parents, Anna and Lucian; and 10 siblings. I am survived by one brother, Joseph (Karen) Zblewski; and numerous nieces and nephews." Dance like no one is watching, sing like no one is listening, live each day like it’s your last.” A funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 12 noon on Friday, Aug. 6, 2021. Burial will be held at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday.
