Ruth Yngsdahl

MADISON/EVANSVILLE-Ruth Katherine Yngsdahl, age 99, of Evansville, passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Evansville Manor. She was born on March 22, 1918, in Adams, Wis., the daughter of Herbert and Minnie (Fritz) Heitman. Ruth married Donald Yngsdahl on Sept. 28, 1963, in Madison. Ruth was employed in the maintenance departments at the UW campus and Quality Service Laundry. Her ultimate job was that of raising her children and step children. Ruth was a long-time member of Lake Edge Lutheran Church, Eagles Auxiliary, a life member of DAV, and Moose Lodge. Ruth was a passionate dancer, especially enjoying square dancing. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, traveling, and being with her family and friends. Ruth is survived by her daughter, Linda (James) Bingham of Evansville; grandson, David Peterson of Janesville; step-daughter-in-law, Carol Yngsdahl; niece, Barbara Kay (Ron) Leibfried; and numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald; step-sons, Donald and Darrell Yngsdahl; two sisters, Mabel Pope and Flora Derra; three brothers, Martin, Alfred, and Rudolph; and a very special friend, Clarence Oren. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Dr, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 27, 2017, with Pastor Katya Ouchakof presiding. Burial will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday.
