Georgia Ann Wiverstad

MADISON-Georgia Wiverstad, age 93, of Madison, passed away on Monday, May 7, 2018, at Oak Park Place.  She was born on Feb. 8, 1925, the daughter of George and Mary (Beyler) Esser. Georgia graduated from Edgewood High School.  She married Richard “Dick” Wiverstad on May 14, 1949, in Madison.  Georgia loved to read, crochet, watch Jeopardy and cheer for her favorite baseball, basketball and football teams.  She was an amazing baker, and her family will cherish her recipes.  Georgia was a member of St. Dennis Catholic Church.  She is survived by her children, Ruth (Art) Pingry, Pat (Tom) Osburn and Dave Wiverstad (Lynne); grandchildren, Adam Pingry, Andrew (Jamie) Pingry, Jenni (Chris) McGill, Heather (Mike) Tortorice and Jake Osburn (Tierney King); great-grandchildren, Cullen, Cian and Shaelyn McGill, Brooklyn and Payton Tortorice and Sawyer and Rosalyn Pingry; sister, Carol Barry; sisters-in-law, Ruth Esser and Annette (Bruce) Bright; brother-in-law, Russ (Joan) Wiverstad; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick; parents; sisters, Margaret Dye, Betty Ferguson and Mary Wenger; and brother, Joe Esser.  A private graveside service will be held at Highland Memory Gardens.  A special thank you to the staff at St. Mary’s Hospital for all their loving care.  Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com.
