Obituary

CUSHINGS, Okla.-William A. “Bill” Williams Jr., a longtime Cushing resident, passed away at his home on Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2018, at the age of 92.  He was born on Oct. 10, 1925, in Madison, to the late William A. and Helen B. (Olson) Williams Sr.  He grew up in Madison, graduating from Madison West High School in 1944.  Bill joined the U.S. Army Air Corp on Jan. 26, 1944, in Madison and served his country during World War II.  He returned from the service in 1946.  Bill married Charlotte Serstad and together they raised their seven children.  Bill moved to Cushing and worked for Cushing Railcar as a general manager from 1972–1984. In 1984, he married Carolyn Coyner.  They moved to Fitgerald, Ga., and worked for Fitzgerald Rail Car until 1991, then moved back and worked for Sand Springs Railway where he finally retired.  Bill enjoyed playing golf, fishing, traveling, and visiting with friends and family.  He will be missed by friends and family.  Bill is survived by his, wife Carolyn; children, Bill Williams, Nancy Falat, Marilyn Harvey, Jane Pettijohn, Susan Anderson, Karen Stevenson and Lori Tellef; 18 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2018.  Interment to follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday.  Online condolences may be made at www.gundersonfh.com  Gunderson East Funeral & Cremation Care 5203 Monona Dr. (608) 221-5420

So very sorry to hear of Bill's passing. He visited my parents, Marion & Glenn Carter, several times over the years. They always had lots to talk about and considered Bill a good friend. Our sympathies to the entire family. Glennda (Carter) Brandt
