She was born on June 27, 1930, in Hillsboro, Wis., the daughter of Louis and Julia (Novy) Vlasak. Margie graduated from Hillsboro High School. She married Ronald L. Ulrich on Aug. 6, 1949, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Madison, Wis. Margie chose Jesus as her Lord and Savior three decades ago in Midland, Texas, and was involved in local church functions in the many locations she called home. “…if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” - Romans 10:9. Margie had an amazing green thumb and was an avid flower and vegetable gardener. She was a great cook and enjoyed sharing her creations by cooking for her family. An avid card player, Margie especially liked playing “hand and foot.” She enjoyed traveling and doing jigsaw puzzles. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. In fact, her vacations usually involved a trip to visit relatives. Margie is survived by a son, Jeff (Gwen) Ulrich; a daughter, Julie (Terry) Oyster; seven grandchildren, Ryan (Trish) Ulrich, Marty Ulrich, Scott (Woohye) Ulrich, Lindsey (Dan) Reynolds, Michelle (Steve) Pelton, John (Lisa) Holloway, and Marianne Engels; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Eleanor Crosswait and Betty Keesler; and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ronald; two brothers, Robert Vlasak and Alden Vlasak; a sister, Mary Schell; and granddaughter, Erin (Oyster) Seidner. A memorial service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 24, 2021.
