Madison - Jean Noble Temby, age 87, of Madison, passed away on Saturday, June 10, 2023. She was born on Dec. 6, 1935, in Darlington, Wis., the daughter of Ronald McFarland and Bernice (Brubaker) McFarland.
Jean was a graduate of Darlington High School. She married Edgar Temby on Dec. 8, 1956, at Darlington United Methodist Church. Prior to retirement, Jean worked with the kitchen staff of the Madison Metropolitan School District. She was a member and a choir member at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. In her free time, she enjoyed playing dominos, bingo, and watching Wisconsin sports including the Packers and she was a die-hard Brewers fan.
Jean is survived by her husband, Edgar; sons, Timothy A. Temby and Todd M. Temby; grandsons, Aaron Temby, Joseph Temby, Ian Temby and Nicholas Temby; granddaughters, Ericka Temby and Carly Temby; great-grandson, Kai Temby; great-granddaughters, Kinley Temby and Alice Temby; and sister, Ruth Ellen Thompson. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Shirley Nethery; and brother, William McFarland.
A memorial service will be held at ST. LUKE'S EPISCOPAL CHURCH, 4011 Major Ave, Madison, at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, July 25, 2023.
