MADISON - John Louis Simonson, age 64, of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at his home. He was born on Oct. 1, 1959, in Madison, Wis., the son of William and Betty (Spellum) Simonson.
John grew up in Madison, graduating from LaFollette High School in 1976. He was employed as a truck driver for many years. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing and golfing, he took great pride in growing a beautiful flower garden and was a talented wood worker.
John is survived by his sisters, Nancy (David) Sailing, JoAnn Gosda and Corinne "Connie" Simonson; many nieces and nephews; as well as other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sisters, Kay (Kyle) Hanek and Kea Jensen.
A celebration of life will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 3 p.m. on Thursday, July 18, 2024. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the time of the service on Thursday. Burial will be private.
