Obituary
MADISON - Lila Ann Spangler, age 96, of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at Madison Pointe Senior Care. She was born on September 14, 1929, in Madison, Wis., the daughter of Mathiaus and Katherine (Kubly) Marty.
Lila graduated from Central High School in Madison, Wis. She married Harry Spangler on November 7, 1948.
In her younger years, she loved roller skating. It was at the skating rink where she met her husband, and they spent many happy evenings dancing on skates together. Lila enjoyed old westerns and classic mobster movies. She shared a close relationship with her sister, Marie. The two enjoyed shopping trips and spending time together.
Lila is survived by her son, Terry (Betty) Spangler; three daughters, Linda Stoffle, Diana Gleichauf and Sherry (Paul) Rear; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Spangler; her parents; brother, Frederick (Mary) Marty; sisters, Marie (Bob) Neupert and Ruth (Gene) Woods; and son-in-law, Thomas Stoffle.
A funeral service will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 26, 2026. Burial will take place at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday.
