Obituary

MADISON/WAUNAKEE/MORRISONVILLE-Orville B. Severson, age 84, passed away on Friday, April 28, 2017, at Karmenta. He was born on Dec. 13, 1932, the eldest son of Ben and Viola (Graves) Severson. Orville was a Korean War Veteran, serving in the U. S. Army from 1951-1953. He was a member of the 840th Engineer Aviation Battalion under SCARWAF (Special Category Army with Air Force). Orville married Betty Jane Gray on Sept. 28, 1955, and she preceded him in death on Aug. 17, 1987. They had one daughter, Theresa. Orville worked as a welder for Monona Tube and Welding, Kupfer Iron Works, Derlein Scales and finally Stoughton Trailers. He retired from Stoughton Trailers in 2000. Orville is survived by his daughter Theresa of Monona; brother, Duane of Madison; sister, Emelie Howells of Madison; brother-in-law, Carroll (Pat) Gray of Madison; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Gray of Wisconsin Dells and Appelonia Severson; cousins, Audrey Miller, Lloyd Young and Maria Gray; friends, Ed (Betty) Denman; and many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Betty; brothers, Albert and Glen; mother and father-in-law, Bill and Zelda (Normington) Gray; brothers-in-law, Lynne Yusten Sr., Wilfred Gray, Virgil Gray, Gerald Gray, Donald Gray, William Gray and Carl Demrow; sisters-in-law, Ardys Severson, Elizabeth Gray, Betty Gray, Shirley Gray, Sharon Gray and Audrey Demrow. Burial will be held at ROSELAWN MEMORIAL PARK, 401 Femrite Dr., Madison at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 19, 2017.
