Beverly June Sloan

MADISON - Beverly June (Hanneman) Sloan passed away on June 15, 2025, after a brief illness.  She was born on January 29, 1931, in Madison, Wis., to Michael and Marion Hanneman. Beverly graduated from Madison Central High School in 1948 and shortly thereafter met and married Hugh Sloan of Arlington, Wis., to whom she was married for 47 years. She was the loving mother of Hugh, Jr. (Carol), Michael (Susan) and Janet Roberts, and grandmother of six, and great-grandmother of three.

Beverly acquired many friends over the course of her life through school, square dancing, church, work, the Eagles Club, and Bingo, and she cherished her more recent friendships at her senior living home. Beverly believed in the power of music and, for many years, enjoyed practicing and performing with the Lake Edge UCC choir and the Monona Senior Choir and Band. Game-playing (cards, dice, backgammon, and Scrabble among others) was a favorite activity, and Beverly spent many hours in friendly competition with family and friends throughout her life. An avid reader, Beverly treasured books and spent every spare moment lost in the pages of novels.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hugh Andrew Sloan, Sr.; her brothers, William and Robert Hanneman; and her life-long, best friend and sister, Marian Kaesberg.  Beverly will be remembered as a kind and loving woman and a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.
