Betty Jean Schulz

STOUGHTON/DELAVAN-Betty Jean Schulz, age 91, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2019. She was born on March 14, 1928, in Richland Center, the daughter of Harold and Ruth (Wolf) Fry. Betty graduated from Lime Ridge High School in 1946. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Emmet Schulz on May 10, 1947, in Hillpoint, Wis. Betty was a hard worker and took pride in providing for her family. She was a proud member of Hope Lutheran Church in McFarland and Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lake Geneva. Betty loved to cook, she enjoyed decorating her home, gardening, watching Hallmark movies with the family pet, Piper, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Betty is survived by her son, Dennis (Evelyn) Schulz; daughter, Dawn (Michael) Alff; brother, Lawrence Fry; grandchildren, Matt (Laurel) Schulz, Ross (Tonya) Alff and Andy Schulz; and great-grandchildren, Emmet, Hasely, Caidyn, Asher and anticipated, baby Trevor; sister-in-law, Marion Gundenschwager; dear friend, Judy Clark; a special nephew, Bill Fry; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Emmet Schulz; brothers, Everett and Wayne Fry; brother-in-law, Glenn Gundenschwager; and sisters-in-law, Evelyn, Avis and Jean Fry. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Dr., Madison from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2019. A memorial service will follow at the funeral home at 3 p.m., with the Rev. Mark and the Rev. Maryann Moller Gundersen concelebrating. Please join the family for a luncheon immediately following the service. Burial will be held at Hope Cottage Grove Cemetery.
