I am sorry for your loss. I am Ralph's daughter. I remember Phyllis from the station on Monona Drive. I used to fill in for her, well, I did the credit card reconciliation, when she was on vacation. That is when I knew my calling...Accounting/Finance, which I pursued. She was so gracious to let a kid help her out. I can only hope that I didn't mess up too much!
May she rest in peace.

I am very sorry for your loss. My grandmother, Elizabeth Kroener, was Phyllis's godmother and spoke of her often and fondly.

I am so very sorry for your loss.
I got to know Phyllis through the Klostermans. I first met her while she was working at Ralph's Service Station on Atwood Ave. in the early 1980's. In April 1993 she trained me to take over her bookkeeping job at Short Stop when she retired from bookkeeping and sold her partnership in Short Stop. She was a very patient teacher! She was always very helpful and would take over for me when I was sick or on vacation. While she was training me she also became a first time grandmother. I remember how excited she was to have a grandson! She sure loved her little David.

I had the honor of knowing Phyllis as a friend and business partner. My first memories of Phyllis were of a nine year old boy. Hanging around my dad's, Ralph Service Station on Monona Drive. Phyllis at her busiest moments doing bookkeeping for my dad, would always have this big smile, to acknowledge your presence, and then take time to chat with you. Sharing fond memories of her family, and their trips to the cabin. Over time I had the pleasure of meeting her family. As the years pasted a friendship formed and in 1989 we entered into a three way partnership of the purchase and building, of the business called Short Stop on Atwood Ave. Phyllis being one of the partners. Over the next five years we were blessed with Phyllis beautiful witty humorous soul. Her people skills. And baking skills bring us treats keeping us all in line, and the business with her bookkeeping skills. I bought out the partnership and Phylis then decided to retired. Phyllis with her smile continued to do business stopping by for gas and to chat. I have a lot of fond memories, Phyllis lives on in the kindness she has shared in our lives. My condolences to her family and close friends. Ralph M. Klosterman
