Antoinette Schwoegler

MADISON - Antoinette Schwoegler, age 88, passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2026, in Madison. She was born on September 1, 1938, the daughter of Anthony and Sarah Troia.

Antoinette graduated from Edgewood High School in 1956 and earned her associate degree from Madison Business College. She worked as an administrative assistant for the State of Wisconsin, until her retirement in 2000. She was united in married to David Schwoegler in Madison in 1973.

Faith was an important part of Antoinette’s life, and she was a devoted and active member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, St. James Church. She cherished the friendships and fellowship she found through the Madison Dominic Club and enjoyed staying active and social by playing cards, bowling, and making her Monday trips to Ho-Chunk for Military Mondays. At home, Antoinette found joy in life’s simple pleasures, including tending to her beloved flower gardens, watching her favorite game shows, and playing games on her iPad.

Antoinette is survived by her husband, David; son-in-law, Peter Bernstein; grandchildren Blue Bernstein, Kingsley Bernstein, and Jak Bernstein; sisters, Rosemary Troia, Nancy Woodward, Nancy (Warren) Onken and Sharon (Jim) Schroeder; brother, Steve Schwoegler; brother-in-law, John Spies; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Theresa Bernstein; parents, Anthony and Sarah Troia; sister, Jenny Spies; brothers-in-law, Bill Woodward and Jerry Thompson; and sister-in-law, Darcy Hall.

A visitation will be held at OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE PARISH, ST. JAMES CHURCH, 1204 Saint James Court, Madison, from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass on Wednesday, November 11, 2026. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow the Mass at Resurrection Cemetery.
