Donovan Richards

MADISON-Donovan "Don" Charles Richards, age 93, of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2017, at Waunakee Manor. He was born on Sept. 5, 1923, in Dane, the son of Charles and Grace (Cline) Richards. He married Edna Sippy on Nov. 12, 1949, in Madison. Don served in the Pacific during World War II. He worked at Rayovac Battery for 43 years. Don was the caretaker for the Town of Dane Rural Cemetery for 60 years. He enjoyed steam trains and backyard railroad layout. Don is survived by his son, Gary of Madison; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Edna in 2014; son, Steven; and brother, Robert (Jackie) Richards. Private family services will be held. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park. The family of Don would like to thank the staff of Waunakee Manor for their loving care over the past two years.
