Elaine G. Pieper

MADISON - Elaine Grace Pieper, age 94, of Madison, passed away on Friday, October 25, 2024, at UW Hospital. She was born on April 19, 1930, in Madison, the daughter of Rudolph and Nina (Enfield) Pieper.

Elaine graduated from Madison East High School. Elaine began her career enlightening young minds as a dedicated teacher, a role that mirrored her innate ability to foster growth and understanding in all she encountered. She later transitioned into a tenure with the State of Wisconsin, where her diligent work ethic propelled her through an array of clerical positions, each benefitted by her meticulous nature and steadfast commitment.

Elaine was a lover of literature, often found with a book in her hand, imparting the sense of tranquility that only a good story can bestow. Her soft-spoken demeanor and kindness were her trademarks, leaving a legacy of gentle guidance and understated strength. She touched the lives of many, leaving us richer for having known her. Elaine will be remembered as a beacon of compassion, her memory a cherished whisper in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

Elaine is survived by her nephew, David Hoffmaster; great nephews, James Hoffmaster, Scott (Megan) Hoffmaster and Jeffrey Hoffmaster; great niece, Sarah (Brian) Mellon; and many great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rudolph and Nina; two sisters, Joyce Hoffmaster and Rachel Pieper; brother, Ronald Pieper; and brother-in-law, Larry Hoffmaster.
