Barbara O'Malley

MADISON-Barbara Lou O'Malley, age 88, of Madison, passed away on Friday, Oct. 27, 2017, at St. Mary's Hospital. She was born on Dec. 10, 1928, in Madison, the daughter of Frank and Olga (Rindflisch) Gray. Barb worked various jobs over the years, but retired as a supervisor in the hospitality industry. She enjoyed working outside in her flower garden, going to garage sales, and watching the eagles in Sauk Prairie. She was an amazing cook who enjoyed having her family around her for holidays, and loved taking care of everyone. Barb is survived by her children, Patrick (Nancy) O’Malley, Dan (Alvina) O’Malley, Ruthann (Steve) Drifke, John (Donna) O’Malley and Shane (Jo Ann) O'Malley; grandchildren, Casey (Megan) O’Malley, Brian (Mercedes) O’Malley, Emily O’Malley, Melanie (Joe) Squires, Caitlin Drifke, Holly Drifke, Brianna O'Malley, Makayla O'Malley, Jordan O'Malley and Tamia O'Malley; great-grandchildren, Brooklynn and Easton Squires and Gabriel O'Malley; and feline companion, Peggy Sue. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John O’Malley; and son, Michael O'Malley. In keeping with Barb's wishes, private services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Dane County Humane Society. The family would like to express a special thank you to Bonnie Riley, her best friend, for her friendship, care and support.
