"Evie" as my Mother Kathleen Schiro would always refer to, was a very special lady and a wonderful and caring friend to my Mother for many years. They developed a special bond and friendship when they realized they had both lost their husband within months of each other. Their friendship blossomed even more during their time in the Elks Club Lady's Auxiliary, while golfing and as members of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. Evie was and always will remain in my heart and I have kept her picture right near my Mothers reminding me that a special friendship in life is worth more than all the gold in the world. God, envelop her in your love and may she rest in peace. My condolences to the Peterson family and one more thing. Evie, please say Hi to my Mother for me and you two must already be planning something fun in Heaven. Sincerely, Jaclyn Schmidt

We lived across the street from Evie and Curt for several decades. Their Christmas open houses were legendary, and their graciousness helped to maintain the neighborhood's social network. Evie was an old-school "lady," always neatly dressed, courteous, and interested in others. We admired the way she remained active until very late in life, golfing with friends and proudly serving the Elks Club. We will miss Evie's presence in the world, but rejoice that she is made whole and reunited with Curt. We send our condolences to Evie's family and all who love her.
