Obituary
MADISON - Lloyd Elroy Perry, age 89, of Madison, who had been living at Heritage Senior Center, Monona, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2022, at Agrace HospiceCare in Fitchburg. He was born on Aug. 2, 1932, in DeForest, Wis., the son of Clifford and Myrtle (Brockmiller) Perry.
Lloyd graduated from Madison East High School in 1950 and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Upon returning home from Korea, he married Donna Thuesen, his high school sweetheart, on May 21, 1955 in Madison at St. Patrick Catholic Church.
Lloyd started working for MG&E in 1956 and retired as an Operating Supervisor in 1994. He was an active member of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Madison and the Knights of Columbus, where he was an honor guard.
Lloyd enjoyed traveling, visiting all 50 states, Canada and Mexico. He was an avid walker and loved to make things with his hands.
Lloyd is survived by his daughter, Linda Perry; two sons, Michael (Cathy) Perry and Mark (Peggy) Perry; brother, Robert Perry; sister, Donna Amacher; two grandchildren, Kelly (Joseph Spencer) Nigl and Anthony (significant other, Oksana Lasowsky) Perry; two great-grandchildren, Ariella Joy Nigl and Isabelle Avery Nigl; and three sisters-in-law, Judy Virnig, Patti Doran and Joanne Thuesen. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Myrtle; wife, Donna; his brother, Rodney Perry and his wife Arlene; two sisters-in-law, Cindy Perry, Rosemarie Haensgen and her husband, Ernest; and four brothers-in-law, Dale Amacher, LeRoy Virnig, Robert Doran and John Thuesen.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC PARISH, 2450 Atwood Ave., Madison, at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 31, 2022. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass on Monday.
