Obituary

MONONA - Arlene Rose Pauley passed into Heaven Sunday, April 24, 2022, in Oregon, Wis. She was born on April 4, 1933, in Madison, Wis., to Austin and Sadie Riddle.

Arlene married Lorence Wayne Pauley on Aug. 25, 1951. She belonged to the Eagles Club and worked at the Wisconsin Department of Revenue from 1975 until her retirement.

Family was everything to Arlene. She loved celebrating every holiday and especially the birthdays of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren with the whole family. She was the oldest of six, so gatherings were large and full of laughter.

Arlene always had a smile on her face and a sweetness in her heart that she shared with everyone she met.

Arlene is survived by her brother, Dennis (Brenda) Riddle; sister, Karen Santos; daughter, Kimberly Askey; son-in-law, William Scott Askey; daughter-in-law, Liza Pauley; grandchildren, Amanda (Hammadi) Elharti, Nicole (Mike) Chicker and Joshua (Stacy) Pauley; and great-grandchildren, Shyanna Mallory, Rebecca Hammond and Hayden Hammond. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sons, James Austin and Timothy Wayne; sister, Shirley Drenkhahn; and brothers, Lawrence and Jeffery Riddle.

Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 5203 Monona Drive, Madison, at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 29, 2022. Entombment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday.
