Obituary
MADISON - Adeline May Olson, age 90, of Madison, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 23, 2022, at St. Mary's Hospital. She was born on May 1, 1932, in La Valle, Wis., the daughter of Arnold and Gladys (Steffen) Rabuck.
Adeline graduated from Reedsburg High School in 1950. She moved to Madison, Wis. and worked at Rayovac. She then met Norman Olson and they were united in marriage on Aug. 30, 1957, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church and were blessed with one son, Corey.
Adeline and Norman were lifetime members of Holy Cross. Adeline served many roles at the church and school. She worked as volunteer librarian and eventually became school secretary for many years working alongside Silas Born. After retiring from this position, she volunteered to put together the church's weekly bulletin and was an active member of the Ladies Aide Association.
In her later years, Adeline moved to Frost Woods Senior living in Monona, Wis., where she made many dear friends. She enjoyed the many social activities and became head of the Social Committee for a number of years. In her last years of life when health and mobility limited her activities, her greatest joy was being able to attend weekly church services on Sunday.
Adeline had a strong faith in God and loved her family deeply. She was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and was well known for her enthusiastic cheering while watching televised games and clothed in her Packers garb. She was very active her entire life and especially liked walking every day. She enjoyed playing Bingo and games and doing puzzles and word searches.
Adeline is survived by her son, Corey (Christine) Olson; stepsons, Gregory (Linda) Olson and Darrell (Linda) Olson; grandchildren, Cody, Connor, Carrie, Carly, Victor, Christy, Erica, Katherine, Nicholas, and Norman; several great-grandchildren; her special niece, Shirley; dear friends, Camilla Dashcund and Ron and Barb Arneson; and other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by husband, Norman; parents; Arnold and Gladys; three sisters, Phyllis (Ray) Borchers, Donna (Paul) Montgomery and Norma Jean (Dale) Markee; and stepson, Lawrence (Kaye) Olson.
A funeral service will be held at HOLY CROSS LUTHERAN CHURCH, 734 Holy Cross Way, Madison, at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 28, 2022, with the Rev. Bernt Tweit presiding. Burial will be held at Oaklawn Cemetery in LaValle, Wis. Visitation will be held at the church from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.
