Ruth McGuire

MADISON-Ruth B. McGuire, age 95, of Madison, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 2, 2018, at Oak Park Place.  She was born on April 21, 1923, in Pittsburgh, PA, the daughter of William J. and Ruth (Greer) Buch.  She married Daniel McGuire on Jan. 18, 1949, in Pittsburgh, PA.  Ruth loved to needlepoint and play the organ and piano. She got great excitement in watching auto races. Ruth enjoyed traveling and seeing the mountains in California, and taking tours to different places to see the sights and go to museums.  She would often say, "change is inevitable" and "live within your means".   Ruth loved her family, and her favorite thing to do was spend time with them.   Ruth is survived by her sons, Gene (Terry) McGuire of Seattle, WA and Tom (Marilyn) McGuire of Madison; seven grandchildren; seven great grandsons; and many other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, William G. Buch and Harry Buch; and sister, Ethel (Robert) Frank.  Funeral services will be held at BETHANY EVANGELICAL FREE CHURCH, 301 Riverside Dr., Madison, at 11 a.m. on Monday Aug. 20, 2018, with Pastor David Carlson presiding. Burial will be held at Jefferson Memorial Cemetery in Pittsburgh, PA. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday.
