MADISON - Stanley Lloyd McEvilly, age 70, of Madison, passed away on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at St. Mary's Hospital. He was born on Dec. 10, 1953, in Madison, the son of Stanley and Eleanor (Hoverson) McEvilly.


Stanley graduated from La Follette High School in 1972.  He worked as a car detailer for Saturn's Car Wash for many years. Stanley was a member of AA for many years. He was a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan and also enjoyed watching and cheering on the Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers.


Stanley is survived by his brother, Patrick (Barbara) McEvilly; sisters, Ivy Yttri and Colleen Brakmanis; nieces, Michelle (Rick) Olson, Kelly (Khalid Mohamed) Yttri, Christie (Dan) Klun and Wendy (Kevin Weber) Brakmanis; nephews, Michael (Katherine) McEvilly, Paul (Kathryn) McEvilly, Patrick McEvilly, Chad Yttri and Jimmy (Susan) Yttri; and 14 great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Eleanor.

As a childhood friend of the McEvilly clan, I am so sorry to hear about Stanley. I remember Ivy, Colleen and I playing “Kick the Can” and Stanley trying to keep up.
